DStreet Announces Partnership with the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America

Agency Providing Pro-Bono P.R. Services to Support Organization’s Efforts

Denver – September 25, 2014 – DStreet, an award-winning Denver-based public relations and communications agency, announced today a pro-bono partnership with the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA). DStreet’s expertise in communications and public relations will garner media exposure for the organization and enhance the organization’s ability to increase awareness and funds for the charity.

“It is incredible to have an award winning team of PR professionals helping us evangelize our mission,” said Kathleen Bates, founder and co-chair of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the HDSA. “Our recent Heroes vs. Villains 5K Run/Walk had great attendance, and raised over $30,000. We hope to only increase the walk’s attendance and the amount of funds raised at future events – so that the important work of supporting the families impacted and finding a cure can be continued.”

Founded in 1968 by Marjorie Guthrie, the wife of legendary folk musician Woody Guthrie, who lost his own battle with Huntington’s at age 55, the HDSA is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by disease. The organization supports research and medical efforts to eradicate Huntington’s Disease, helps people and families cope with problems presented by the disease and educates both health professionals and the public. Huntington’s Disease is a genetic neurodegenerative disorder that affects muscle coordination and leads to cognitive and physical decline. There is no known cure for the disease.

“One of DStreet’s missions is to use our public relations and communications expertise to augment the efforts of causes we believe in,” said Jennifer Dulles, president and owner of DStreet. “We’re excited to be helping the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the HDSA, and look forward to bringing more awareness to this devastating disease.”
