Communications Agency to Highlight CBC’s Literacy Mission for Denver Comic Con
DENVER – March 25, 2014 – DStreet, a Denver-based boutique communications consultancy, has been retained by Comic Book Classroom to promote Denver Comic Con and specifically highlight the event’s unique literacy mission.
“Denver Comic Con has quickly become one of the biggest cons in the nation,” said Jennifer Dulles, APR, DStreet president. “It’s not only attracting some of the most sought-after pop culture celebrity guests, but it’s doing it with an underlying mission of literacy and a focus on kids and diversity. It’s really changing perceptions about what a con can do.”
Comic Book Classroom is a non-profit improving literacy and art skills, increasing student achievement, and developing personal awareness in schools and communities through comics and pop culture. Denver Comic Con, the organization’s high-profile program, will be held at the Colorado Convention Center June 13 – 15.
“It’s a fantastic story—all of the money raised at Denver Comic Con is funneled back into building an organization that engages kids in learning,” said Dulles.
DStreet is applying its recent experience with community events such as the Denver Cabela’s openings, the Denver Boat Show and Castle Rock WineFest to the Comic Book Classroom account. In addition, DStreet’s account lead is a comic book geek.
